The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has intercepted two suspected fake military officers in a new VIP edition of Toyota Hilux Jeep loaded with a total of 394 compressed parcels of illicit

drugs concealed in different parts of the vehicle.

The suspected fake military officers; Mohammed Nura and Abubakar Dahiru, were intercepted by vigilant operatives of the Kogi state Command of the NDLEA along Okene-Lokoja expressway on Monday February 15, 2021.

Drug abuse is a global problem that poses a great danger to the lives of individuals, society and political stability and security in many countries. According to the United Nations (2005), the use of illicit drugs has increased through the world trend is the increasing a availability of many kinds of drugs among ever widening spectrum of consumers. The major concern is that seem to be targeted ad new market for the drug industry globally.

We must work together to fight the menace through enlightenment, sensitization and educating the general public against the negative effects and danger of drug abuse.

Drug are commonly used by everybody whether young or old. Drug are not only useful for human beings; they are also useful for animals for good health. Human beings give drugs to the animals when they discovered that they are not healthy.

Drug is an effective substance in the life of any living thing to cure sickness and make life healthy. It is true that drugs are used for beneficent therapeutic purposes, effective substance for good health,but they are being abused by people especially youths. They use it illegally and unlawfully, thus it becomes harmful to the body.

The impact of drug abuse among our youths has been considered a moral decadent.Drug abuse has made the face of the Nigerian youth rough and brought shame to our society. The Nigerian youth are deliberately using drugs illegally, unlawfully and internationally.

Many of our youths ignorantly or knowingly depend on one drug or the other for their daily activities. Abusing drugs in our society female are not exempt in this evil act. Drug are addictive because they physically enslave, however some are non active. Drug addiction is a tragedy in our society.
